Noise Killer

So I got a full Defender 90 Sound Proof Kit from Noisekiller.
It really has improved the road noise and engine noise in the cab, although I am going to get more, Egg box proffing for under the headlining, heavy duty proofing for between engine and cab, and also on the back panels under the rear windows, and possibly even an engine blanket.
The kit is a great starter, it comes pre cut and delivery times are more than acceptable.

Here is the heavy duty proofing for under the bonnet.

The lining by the pedals was sagging anyways before I took it out.

Here I cut pieces as I had an idead to fix it.

Here I have the Driver;s footwell fitted out. I did rip the carpet the covered the sides where the seat rests - but the rubber sound proofing looks good.  I'll replace with hard wearing carpet at some point.

Macgyver style - fitting the lining back to the footwell

The boot/tub.  I know the potos ain't the best, first time doing this step by step, and I used my phone - in future I'll take too many photos and use a camera with a proper flash.

Bits to Fix

I want to take the bullbar and Light Guards off and restore them, I think the bull bar needs a good clean up / polish.

After I get the Light Guards shot blasted and powder coated, I want to replace the Headlamp surrounds and Grill with the SVX model versions.

My landy needs a new set of Tyres.  I think for the mometn I'll keep with All Weather mostly Road use Tyres.  Although I would like to have a separate set of Rims and tyres for off Roading or when we have heavy Snow.

So the side steps...  They need some serious restoration. I'm going to take them off, hammer them back into place and get rid off any rust before I send them for shot blasting and powder coating..

I want a new radio (and later speakers) that doesn't look out of place BUT can connect to my phone so I can play music but also answer call etc.

So I want to add the extra seats into the back - there's four in total.  Although in a year or two, I'm going to change these into Two Forward Facing seats.

Nothing really wrong with the back, but I would like to add a  NAS Spec Rear Bumper

The Long Road to Completion

I have big plans for my Landy.  In the not too distant future I'd like to to look like a cross between the Bat Tumbler and Blade's Dodge Charger.  Above are 3 90s which I'd like to model mine on.  The top one is amazing looking and was featured in Land Rover Monthly during summer 2012!
